PSHE
Our Intent for PSHE at Abbot Alphege Academy
At Abbot Alphege Academy we have a statutory obligation to promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at the school and of society, and to prepare pupils at the school for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.
We use the Jigsaw scheme of work looking at the areas of Being me in my world, understanding my place in the class, school and community. By celebrating difference looking at understanding bullying and diversity. We look at our dreams and goals through goal setting, aspirations and resilience building. We explore keeping healthy which includes drug and alcohol education, self-esteem and confidence as well as healthy lifestyle choices (on and off line). We look at relationships which includes understanding friendship, family and other relationships, conflict resolution and communication skills. Then lastly, changing me including Sex and Relationship Education in the context of looking at and managing change.
