Our Values and our Vision

Together we love, we learn and we grow.

‘Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path’ Psalm 119:105

At Abbot Alphege Academy, we truly believe that every child in our care is a special and exceptional person, and is capable of more than we know.

Our first and most important priority is to make sure that our children feel safe, valued and happy in our school, and that they trust the adults who teach them and take care of them.

We strive to make sure that each and every child is academically fulfilled and makes the best progress that they can through our curriculum. We work hard to make sure that each and every child makes excellent progress in their learning from their starting points, develop a true love of learning and are inspired and excited by what they learn. We want to develop truly curious learners who want to explore their own creativity through their learning.

We endeavour to develop confident and self-assured young people, who are ready for the next stage in their education. They are resourceful and resilient, and have a high sense of their own worth both as individuals and as learners. We want them to be ambitious for themselves.

We work hard to help our children develop a sense of responsibility to themselves, each other and the world around them and we place a high value on kindness as a fundamental value that permeates everything we do in our school.

We are a Church of England school and we share our Christian Values with our children, considering how we can enact these in our everyday life. We give children the opportunity to experience worship and prayer and also to ask big questions worth asking through this. We welcome all children and families of all faiths and those of none.

At Abbot Alphege, we see ourselves as a true community school, working hard in partnership with our parents, our governors, our Trust and our wider community to ensure great outcomes for the children in our school.

Our vision is to serve our children and our community, enabling our children to flourish and to be fulfilled academically, socially and spiritually.

Our Christian Values

We focus on a different Christian Value each term. We talk about our value and what it means in everyday life in our assemblies and worship, and children talk about it in their classrooms through their learning as well.

Our Christian Values this year are:

Term 1           Hope

Term 2           Peace

Term 3           Dignity

Term 4           Wisdom

Term 5           Community

Term 6           Joy

Our Christian Values are important to us and underpin everything that we do in our school and, while we focus on our Christian Values each term, there are a number of values that run through our school each and every day:

Kindness, respect, trust and love for each other and the world around us.
